THE POTTER

This beautiful painting is of a potter spinning a new pot unseen by our eyes but we can see his hand is dripping water on the clay. A new pot is in the foreground as the potter seems happy in his work.

You will practice capturing the mood and expression without seeing the eyes but understanding the connection of involvement between the eyes, the mouth and the hand to bring the circle of expression to the painting. The hand catches your eye to help tell the story. The use
of strong contrasts and intensity of colors create the movement to bring this painting to life.
